Chihiharu Shiota - Installation Artist
Chiharu Shiota is an amazing artist, using threads and yarns to create these webs that are attached to objects which are caught in these webs. Shiota is influences by fairy tales, old hospitals, dark dreams and memories. Sometimes she believes that reality is her dream and that her dreams are her reality. The Suitcases in one of the above images represents identity and memories of people. These installations are stunningly beautiful but with an edge to give you shivers. The thought and depth to these pieces represents nightmares, and it is so dark that it can give you nightmares.
Arnaud Lapierre - “Ring” installation in Place Vendôme, Paris
french designer arnaud lapierre has created ‘ring’, a series of mirrored cubes placed in a circular pattern in collaboration with AUDI. the vast amount of reflections and angles warps the perspective of the surrounding area. the optical effect creates a surreal environment in which both the structures and people are distorted and recreated, fracturing the usual relationship that individuals have with the piazza as well as themselves. overall, the installation measured 5500 x 4000 mm (216 x 157 inches).
the ‘ring’ installation was on show at place vendôme, paris, at the 2011 foire internationale d’art contemporain (FIAC).

HEAVON OF DELIGHT | Jan Fabre
The work’s title, Heaven of Delight, refers to the well-known Hieronymus Bosch painting Garden of Delight.** Here, Fabre refers to the tradition of painting and the place occupied by ceiling frescoes. A ceiling fresco is a form of painting that both hides and represents the heavens.
